    Default Chef Aiken's Party Paella

Since was little, I always wanted to try Paella but my family never made it. I just remembered it today when it was mentioned in one of the TV shows I was watching. I found this recipe at Recipes.com and this is the version I would like to make.

    Ingredients

2 cups finely chopped fresh green beans
    1 1/2 cups chopped onion
    4 cloves garlic, minced
4 teaspoons olive oil or vegetable oil
4 vegetable broth or reduced-sodium chicken broth
    2 cups chopped tomatoes
    2 cups long grain rice
    1 teaspoon paprika
    1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1 package (8 oz.) Meal Starters Chik'n Strips

    Directions

    1. In 12-inch nonstick skillet cook and stir green beans, onion and garlic in hot oil over medium-high heat about 5 minutes or until tender.

    2. Carefully stir in broth, tomatoes, rice, paprika and turmeric. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat. Simmer, covered, about 18 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is nearly absorbed.

    3. Stir in MORNINGSTAR FARMS MEAL STARTERS CHIK'N STRIPS. Cook, covered, over medium-low heat for 2 to 3 minutes or until heated through. Serve immediately.

Paella is a spanish dish right? or am I wrong? I haven't made this before when I had the chance since the direction looked complicated. I didn't want to ruin it. It seems, though, that this is an easier version of it.

The original recipe for Paella is much more complicated than this one. MORNINGSTAR FARMS MEAL STARTERS CHIK'N STRIPS.? I don't think this is sold in my country..I'll prefer seafoods in Paella though.

me too.. I want to use mussels instead of chicken..I didn't think Paella would be this easy to make. I wonder how it would taste if I use brown rice instead of white.
