    I'm at rock bottom now. I workout for about 40 to 45 min on the treamill with intervals of speed, about 4 to 5 times a week. some day i so weights as well. I'm 5'3" and abou 138lb. not big, but i do everything and I would love to be about 125. I KNOW i dont' wanna hear that i"m already at a good weight.I try to aim about 1200 to 1400 calories. Nothing's working. I dont' want to cut my calories cause below 1200 is bad and i know that, i was considering an atkins or south beach diet but i didn't know if you gain the weight back and atkisn is scary cause to never have carbs again would pretty much be hard with family events and unplanned social gatherings (I'm 18 btw) any help? Any diets that have worked to lose weight and maintain it???!?!?

    PLLEASSSEEE help. =[

    Diets are bad. Just eat veggies, fruits, lean protein, and you should be fine. Stop restricting yourself, you're not losing weight because your metabolism is slowed down and your body is fighting your calorie restriction. Up the calorie intake, up the exercise, and your body will stop eventually. You're in starvation mode right now.

    You should consider the Scarsdale Diet, it's similar to Atkins but healthier and includes some carbs. It has a keep trim program to ensure you don't put the weight back on, it also seeks to modify your diet so you don't eat the types of food that lead to weight gain.

    OKay I wish people would stip assuming that with Atkins you never eat carbs again... That is only on the first two weeks in the first stage of atkins. There are 4 stages to atkins. I suggest reading the book or going to the website to get you started......Atkins diet does work and it works fast but yeah you are right it is possible to gain the weight back once you are done. It took my bf and I several years before we started gaining weight back but once you start gaining weight back then hop on the diet again to get you back in check its that easy!! OR you can try weight watchers my bf and I have done this too!!! Its a healthier route and you can eat a lot and what you want... There are guys at this meeting so don't be nervous.. Good luck!

    One possibility is you've reached weight loss plateau that's why you don't see any progress on your diet. If your doing the same workout over and over and have the same level of calories, your body will eventually get used to it and you will stop losing weight. Try changing your routine once in a while or up your calorie at least once or twice a week.
