    Default Question about Vitamin A?

Can vitamin A from plants (beta carotene, alpha carotene) cause toxicity or is it only the retinal form that causes toxicity? I need to know because I just drank a juice with 120% RDA Vitamin A (all from plants) and now I want to have some carrots which contain 300% per serving. I've noticed I get way more Vitamin A than the reccomended amount, almost all from plant sources. Can this cause toxicity? Should I cut back on the vitamin A - I really don't know how I'd get all my vegetable servings in if I did!

As far as I know, only retinol or retinyl forms are the most toxic. They can increase risk of bone loss and bone-fracture as people age.

Sasa maybe right.. but just an additional information, it is toxic to consume more than 25,000 IU of vitamin A per day for adults and 10,000 IU per day for children from either food or supplements or both.
